Our website www.language-support.com generally may be used without entering personal information. Different rules may apply to certain services on our site, however, and are explained separately below.
Insofar as personal information (e.g. name, address, email address, telephone number, etc.) is collected on our website, this information is supplied voluntarily by the user. Personal information is always handled in accordance with the provisions of German data protection statutes only. At no time will personal information be shared with third parties without your express consent. Information is considered personal if it can be associated exclusively to a specific natural person. The legal framework for data protection may be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). The provisions below serve to provide information as to the manner, extent and purpose for collecting, using and processing personal information by the website provider.
Please be aware that data transfer via the internet (e.g. when communicating via email) is subject to security risks and, therefore, complete protection against third-party access to transferred data cannot be ensured.
For technical reasons, data such as the following, which your internet
browser transmits to us or to our web space provider (so called server log files), is collected:
- type and version of the browser you use
- operating system
- websites that linked you to our site (referrer URL)
- websites that you visit
- date and time of your visit
- your Internet Protocol (IP) address.
This anonymous data is stored separately from any personal information you may have provided, thereby making it impossible to connect it to any particular person. The data may be used for statistical purposes in order to improve our website and services. At no time this data will be disclosed to third parties, whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
On our website we offer you the possibility to contact us, either by email and/or by using a contact form. In such event, information provided by the user is stored for the purpose of facilitating communications with the user. No data is transferred to third parties. Nor is any of this information matched to any information that may be collected by other components of our website.
For establishing, stipulating the content of, or amending the contractual relationship between the user/customer and us, we collect and process, as far as necessary, personal information from you (so called master data).
Generally, no information is passed on or disclosed to third parties. By order of the competent authorities, we will be permitted to provide information on master data in individual cases if this is necessary to carry out prosecution proceedings, to enable crime prevention, or to fulfill other statutory tasks.
Naturally, you as our customers are particularly interested in a safe and confidential handling of the documents you have entrusted us with. Therefore, all of our freelance translators and freelancers of other professions collaborating with us have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement to guarantee utmost discretion at all stages.
We electronically collect and process your application data for the purpose of completing the application process. If your application results in the conclusion of an employment contract, a freelance or other collaboration, the data collected from you may be stored e.g. in your personnel file for purposes of normal organizational and administrative processes in compliance with the appropriate legal requirements.
Upon rejection of your application, data you have provided is automatically deleted one year after notification of rejection. This does not apply in such instances where, due to legal requirements (such as the burden of proof obligation stipulated in the Equal Treatment Act) a longer storage period is required or if you have expressly agreed to have your data stored for a longer period in our database of prospective applicants.
The website www.language-support.com contains links to websites of third parties. To the extent that these are not clearly identifiable as such, we point out to you that the relevant link refers to an external website. We do not have any influence on contents and presentation of these external websites. This privacy statement therefore does not apply to such third-party sites.
On the basis of the Federal Data Protection Act, you may contact us at no cost if you have any questions relating to the collection, processing or use of your personal information, if you wish to request the correction, blocking or deletion of the same, or if you wish to cancel explicitly granted consent. Please note that you have the right to have incorrect data corrected or to have personal data deleted, where such claim is not barred by any legal obligation to retain this data.
Data protection provisions on our own behalf
We herewith expressly oppose to the use of any contact data published on our website for advertising purposes or for sending us information that has not been expressly requested, unless we had previously given our consent or unless a business relationship has already been established. These contact data have been published, for example, in accordance with the German Telemedia Act to comply with legal notice requirements. We and all persons mentioned on our website expressly declare that they do not authorize any commercial use or dissemination of their personal information. We reserve the right to take legal action against those sending unsolicited advertising information, e.g. spam e-mails.
